July 14th -  The Staff would like to welcome Jamie-Lee Richards to the coaching staff for the 2011 season. Jamie-Lee returns to Hampton Roads area after an amazing playing career at University of Dayton and coaching stints with Dayton Jrs. And Team Z. We look forward to her working with the Elite athletes.
















Jamie-Lee Richards began her high school career at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, but transferred to Tallwood High School as a senior and led her team to the 2002 VHSL AAA State Championship Match. She was recognized as a First Team All-State Selection. She played her club ball for the Tidewater Volleyball Association and played 17’s for Beach Elite
co-founder, Michael Williams. She was offered and accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Dayton.

While playing for the University of Dayton, her teams amassed a 102-33 record, 4 regular season Atlantic 10 Conference titles, 4 Atlantic 10 Conference tournament titles, 3 NCAA Tournament 1st round appearances and 1 NCAA Tournament 2nd round appearance. As a senior, she led her team to a 33-2 record, and ranking of #12 in the NCAA/AVCA Coaches Poll.

Jamie-Lee was recognized as 1st Team All Atlantic 10 Conference selection (’06, ’07), Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament MVP (’07), AVCA Div. I All Northeast Region selection (’07) and AVCA Div. I All-American Honorable Mention (’07). As she concluded her playing career, she began coaching in the Ohio Valley Region

Jamie-Lee has coached one season with nationally recognized Dayton Jrs. and two seasons for powerhouse Team Z (one of the top clubs in the nation). She had the opportunity work with several high profile recruits and members of High Performance, Youth National and Jr. National teams. She has recently decided to return to Virginia Beach area and hopes to make an immediate impact with Beach Elite

June 16th -   Congratulations to our raffle winners!!!  Bob LaPoint of Norfolk for winning the 3 piece Roxy luggage and J. Lally for winning the Quicksilver Surf Camp.  We would, also, like to thank all who have donated and supported our fundraising efforts.

June 1st - DON'T MISS IT!!!  Beach Elite is hosting another Car Wash & Sidewalk Sale Fundraiser at Advance Auto Parts, 2161 Upton Drive, VA Beach, at 9am on Saturday, June 5th. Advanced Auto Parts can, also, be accessed from Nimmo Pkwy where Walmart & Golden Corral are located.

If you have items in good condition that can sell quickly,we would love for you to bring them to the sidewalk sale.  If anyone wishes to pre-sell car wash tickets, please do so.  We will continue to sell raffle tickets as well.

For set-up, arrive at 8:30.  We will have a cooler with waters available.  Bring LARGE signs, buckets, rags, towels, hoses, soap and a chair if needed.

RAIN-DATE - We will postpone if there is rain.  Rain date TBD.

May 23rd - Beach Elite players were impressive at the 2010 AAU Virginia District Beach Volleyball Championships. Many teams played and put on a great fight; ultimately, three teams qualified for the 2010 AAU National Champioship.  Kelsey Sumner & Parys Zambas won the U14 Doubles Champioship; Ashley Sumner & Amanda Barnes came in second in U16; while Gaby Smith & Kristen Sessoms placed third in U16.  Congratulations!!!May 23rd - Brynn Fleury, member of 14 Roxy, was recently honored for her accomplishment in sports.  Brynn was named Academic All Conference & "Best All Around" - MVP.  Great job Brynn.

May 12th - Congratulations to several Beach Elite girls for being selected to participate in the USAV High Perfomance Program. Go Elite!!!

May 12th - Let's support Beach Elite 16s with their trip to USAV JO's in Reno Nevada.  Raffle tickets are still available ($5 each) for 3 piece Roxy luggage set (pictured below) and 3 day surf camp.  The drawing will be held on June 12th and winner need not be present to win.  Many thanks to all  for the support of  the 16s Car Wash Fundraiser. May 8th -  Great food, great fun!  Come out to Shorebreak Pizza (2941 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach) on Wednesday, May 19th, from 5-8 PM.  Mention you are there to support Beach Elite 17's and a portion of your final bill will be donated to support the team's trip to the USAV Junior Olympic Championships in Reno, NV.

May 4th - Congratulations to 13s (pictured below) & 15s for their great finishes at the Revolutionary Rumble.   The 13s finished with a strong 2nd in Gold Division while the 15s battled it out to tie for 5th. 

















April 17 & 18th  -  Congratulations to all Beach Elite teams that participated in 2010 ODR Bid Tournament.  Club pride filled the gym as all Beach Elite teams gathered to support their fellow players. All our players demonstrated "elite" athletic performances.  Three teams (14/16/17) reached the gold finals. Two of those teams (16/17) were fortunate enough to win and accept bids to Nationals.  14s came just short, dropping in 3 competitive games. However, they demonstrated that they can play hard, smart & with heart.  The championship caliber play & club enthusiasm was a testament to our name "Beach Elite"!!!! 














April 2 - America's Next Top Model eat your heart out ...  Beach Elite 14 Roxy had a photo shoot with the talented April Christensen (click here to visit her facebook page).  The shoot was enjoyed by all and got the team together for some quality time off the court.












April 3 - 16 Roxy finsihed T17 in 16 open at NEQ this past weekend.  Playing a tough field the team was able to go undefeated on Day 1 before falling from contention for a bid on Day 2.  16 Roxy will now focus on the ODR Regional Bid on April 17th & 18th in Richmond.

March 30th - The 16 Roxy "Hammer & Roof Company" have enjoyed success throughout this season mainly playing 17s & 18s teams.  With the qualifier season now beginning, the team will look for even more success within its age group. We are a big team that can hit & block with anyone, but it's our ability to play defense that I am most proud of.

March 13 -"Keeping up with ..... Beach Elite"????  On a break from play at the MAPL #2 event, Beach Elite 14s spotted reality star,  Kim Kardashian, at the California Pizza Kitchen in Downington, PA.













February 28th  -   The entire club gathered for a fun day!!!  Beach Elite players joined coaches for games, pizza & .... dancing???  Watch the coaches showing off their moves.

















February 15th - Planes, trains & automobilies!!!  Beach Elite teams braved the elements and headed to Ohio, Tampa & Washington, D.C. for some great competition.

February 8th -  Four teams headed to Raleigh, NC for the first Mid-Atlantic Power League (MAPL). The  tournament was divided into 2 divisions:  Black (16-18) Blue (14-16).  Some of the top teams from Pennsylvania down to South Carolina were present.  After a weekend of top volleyball our teams finished:
  • 14 Roxy - 29th - Blue Division January 27th -  The staff would like to congratulate Gaby Smith (16 Roxy) for being chosen to AAA-All State - 2nd Team and Brooke Barnes (17 Roxy) on being chosen for AAA-All State - Honorable Mention by the Virgina High School Coaches Association.  Gaby & Brooke were the starting outsides for Princess Anne High School for the 2009 Fall Season.   

January 18th - Congratulations to all the teams on their finishes at the Monument City Classic this past weekend.  It was a great start to the new season and we look forward to even greater successes from each of you.

  • 16s Roxy - Amanda Barnes ( All Beach District-1st Team), Cheyanne James (All Beach District-1st Team ,All Tidewater-Media - 2nd Team , All Eastern Region-Coaches), Gaby Smith (All Tidewater-Media-1st Team ,All Beach District-1st Team , Co-player of the Year-Eastern Region Coaches), Angie Darcus (All Beach District-Honorable Mention ), Paxton Crooks (All Beach District-Honorable Mention) , Jacque Grigsby (All Beach District-Honorable Mention), Jordan Banta (All Beach District-Honorable Mention).

November 29th -   Beach Elite 14 Roxy Volleyball Team shopped for goodies and filled holiday stockings for children in the Hampton Roads area.  This year more than 13,000 children in the local area between the ages of 6-14 are expected to be in need of assistance.  The Salvation Army will distribute these stockings to needy children in mid-December.

















November 27th - Thank you everyone!  To all who attended the 2009-2010 tryouts, Beach Elite thanks each of you.  Whether you have decided to play with Beach Elite or elsewhere, it is great to see the number of volleyball players from the Tidewater area increasing each season.  Good luck to all this year and we hope to see you all at tryouts next season.
